What Members Thought
Two sociopaths figure out superpowers, and eventually fight to hash out their grudge. It was hard to cheer for anyone at times, honestly, though only one is a serial killer harboring the delusion that he was chosen by God, which is always an easy heebie-jeebie inducer to me. Sanctimonious religious fervor justifying atrocities? Urgh. (That's what I found creepily compelling in Libba Bray's The Diviners.) Fast-paced and engaging. ((view spoiler)

3.75 stars — The plot is simple but propelled by intriguingly twisted characters, who, if somewhat predictable, certainly entertain. I didn’t really start feeling emotionally invested until the last few chapters, otherwise I might bump this up to a 4 or higher, but just the same, this book is dark, vicious fun.
