This was the perfect book to read just as it got chilly in my neighborhood and the leaves began to turn. A deliciously creepy psychological ride.

Um, what? I'm still puzzling over this one. I'm not sure I 100% understand it, but I do know that I 100% enjoyed it. How Shirley Jackson managed to cram so many layers and mystery and gothic sensibilities into such a short book is beyond me! ...more
