This was a re-read. It was probably about ten years ago I first read it and I remember liking the book a lot but not much else.
Around 30 or 40 pages in I had the impression that while I was enjoying the book, perhaps my younger self had over esteemed it.
And then I read the rest of the book and it turns out it's pretty much perfect.
