I don't know why, but I really struggled to get through this book. Something about the writing style just bothered me. I understand what the overall plot of the series is, but this entire book I just felt myself wondering where it was going, it just seemed very random. Also, the main character Kvothe is probably one of the least likeable characters I have ever read about. Wonderful book—has the kind of expansive, sharply characterized cast, and quick, tireless pacing of a 19th century serial.
Abandoned. I wanted to like this book. The writing was good, but I couldn’t get behind Qvothe as a character, and didn’t get grabbed by the plot...
