Yeah... umm... Pynchon's not for me?
I mean I tried, there was intelligent writing here and some intriguing ideas/situations - thoughts put down on paper to make the grey matter jostle a bit, but it was undermined by the overly dense style and this insistence that everything comes back to being phallic or penis adjacent. I hated this book. Please never read it. You will save so much time for other things. Seriously, take a walk, talk to a beloved family member, or even garden. Just don't go down this rabbit hole.
