I doubt I can review the Odyssey in a way that hasn’t been done in the past millennia, and I’d read it in high school and revisited it in college, so what I am really reviewing is the translation. It’s fresh, sparse, and as active as possible. The long introduction really helps unpack the power of the ancient story, especially in regards to the female characters and the continuum of patriarchy.
