There are plenty of great things to be said about The Underground Railroad - the story and themes are incredibly important, the writing is strong, and the overall product is appropriately accessible for any casual reader. It's not a literary titan of the genre, but it certainly can sit comfortably beside the canon of works like Beloved or The Color Purple.
