Ok so despite the fact that some of the crude humor falls flat and the Japanese stereotyping is pretty enormous, this book was SO much fun. Fantastic world building, I loved the characters and their flaws, I loved all the 80s references (especially the Monty Python ones), and I loved the plot. There were a few things that fell short, but I was so entertained that I don't even care. I can't wait to see a movie version!

This isn't the type of book I usually read, but Tanesha raved about it on her Crafty Garden Mom podcast, and many of my Goodreads friends gave it four or five stars. I can see why. Ready Player One is action-packed with some great twists and turns. Even though I'm not a videogame player, it was fun to get inside that virtual reality for a little while. Will Wheaton was a great narrator for this book.

This was a great story. I enjoyed the references to video games and 80s trivia, even tho it seemed slightly overdone at times. Good characters and I was drawn into the story at every turn. It's pretty gamer heavy, but with a slight bit of romance thrown in!!
