I've seen a lot of criticism thrown at this book, saying it's just a load of 80's references that hold it together. I think you could replace the 80's with any decade and it'd still be enjoyable. I'm a gamer and an 80's child so maybe I enjoyed it because of that, but a lot of the references went over my head. I really enjoyed the story, the easter egg hunt and the race to find it. What a roller coaster this book was. It had some exciting moments and I really enjoyed the last quarter of the book, but I felt like too much of the book was the uphill climb.
First, I will say that the overall plot and story is solid. Mostly likeable protagonist with clear goals and villains that are both clearly evil with understandable motives.

I was a little disappointed. the premise of the novel was really interesting but I felt like everything fell flat.
