I probably would have actually given this book a 2 1/2 stars if it was possible, but I can't. While I enjoyed it overall, I felt like there was something missing.
I picked up these books because around 5 friends have been pushing hard for me to read this series. I thought the mystery was a good one. I was interested all the way until the end. I lowered my rating from a year ago after a second reading. I really disliked Kinsley, but for my own personal reasons. Like she is overly sexual in almost every description of a person and her hatred of dogs. I am fine with sexual characters but it was a little in everything that made it weird to me. Not bad for a quick little murder mystery. The writing was annoying at times, and the main character a little flat. But this is the first book in the series and with its popularity I'm guessing some of the sequels will be even better. I'd definitely give them a try.
