Something I’ve discovered this year is that listening to a book on audio can really highlight its flaws. With a burst of energy, the Overdue podcast, and the new (to me) amazing ability to download a book instantly through Libby, I’ve powered through more books this year than possibly...ever. So I’ve also become way more picky. And what I am picky about re The Crane’s Dance is that it is too long and plotless; I know what a character-driven story is but this didn’t cut it for me.
