3.5/5 stars. Such a strong start and I really enjoyed the first half, mostly due to the very solid writing and incredible character work. But the book is so needlessly long and bloated with minor named characters that add little to the plot and critical observation after critical observation that adds up to a hundred little judgements of everything and everyone, and it's a little exhausting to read. MC became impossible to root for by the end. ...more
