Shelves: favorites, library, 2016

I read this as a kid, but remembered very little. Reading it now, I was surprised by how science-based and yet fairy tale-like it was. Like, sure, folds in time and space but also ultimate darkness and beautiful horse people.

The relationship between Meg and Charles is what really sold the story to me. It was charming and sweet and strong and I'd love to read more in the series. ...more

It's kind of funny, all of my friends rated this book four stars, so the rating wasn't a surprise to me. It was an imaginative adventure. Though there were times when Meg was...not my favorite character, though they usually pointed out that she's just a girl in extreme circumstances and you can't judge people on their faults alone. ...more

When I had to read this in sixth grade I thought it was boring and that Charles Wallace was creepy and weird. Rereading, I think that it is boring, Charles Wallace is creepy and weird, and that I would welcome Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which with a shotgun if they ever appeared at my door.
