What Members Thought

This book feels like Anne of Green Gables to me. It feels like the Chronicles of Narnia. It feels like Harry Potter. It feels like every sweeping tale of good versus evil that ever made me sad to finish the last page.
I don't know why this book didn't call to me as a kid. I suppose I was turned off by the cover, or maybe the notion of it being sci-fi felt too much like work or math or analytical. Nothing could be further from the truth.

For some reason, I overlooked "A Wrinkle in Time" when I was younger. I am surprised that it wasn't thrust upon me in all my years in Catholic school. That said, I'm happy that I had the opportunity to read this as an adult.

Hmm, I'm not so sure about this. I like the story but in my head I kept on comparing it to Narnia, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and I just got a little bit too annoyed with the lack of world-building (as compared to you know, king of world-building, Tolkien) which is maybe unfair because this is a children's book. Also the moralistic tone - hmm.. I mean C.S. Lewis can do moralistic but then I don't find it as annoying as here.
