Oh, Anne - I'd adopt you in a heartbeat! I loved this enthusiastic little creature, who imagines the world into a fabulous fairytale whenever reality disappoints (which it does frequently in the life of an orphan). When her character is first introduced, she reminded me a little of Phoebe's boyfriend Carter (Alec Baldwin's guest appearance on FRIENDS) because everything is just so overwhelmingly beautiful - and isn't life just grand?

I really wanted to like this book. It was really good at the beginning but as I got about half way through, I felt that it was pretty repetitive and, honestly, a bit boring. Anne was really great in the beginning but as I read more, she became a little annoying with her incessant talking. By the end it was a little better though so it was like a sandwich of good bad and then good again.
