Mrs. Frisby is a young widow with four children. It's time to move to their summer home before the farmer plows up the field and destroys their winter home. Unfortunately, one of her young children is sick and if he moves too early, he could die. This leads Mrs. Frisby on a journey for help where she encounters crows, owls, and eventually the mysterious rats of NIMH.

I have vague memories of the Disney movie and it seems very different to this story. But I love this story of hero rats! There needs to be more rat-positivity in the world!
