I have a bad habit of sticking with a book even when I'm not enjoying it. I always hope that it is going to get better if I just give it enough time. I have to learn that it's okay to give up and move on to something I enjoy more. This was one of those times I should have given up. As hard as I tried I could not get into this book. Was there anything profound about the theme of this book? Not really. At least it was nothing I didn't already know, but it was so well crafted, I could not give this book less than 4.5 stars. Mitchell mastered every genre, and every voice was unique. This is a truly ambitious novel. ...more
