This book was a bit of a mess. It had wonderful parts entwined with very wordy and disjointed areas which did not need to exist.
Ozeki tackled very complex issues of suicide, bullying, and prostitution very well. However, Ruth's narrative felt fake. Ozeki also tried to incorporate too many theories, resulting in a novel which completely fell apart. ...more
