This is just one of those not-for-me books. The Haunting of Hill House has been critically acclaimed for a long time, and I can see why in terms of the prose and Jackson's way of seamlessly weaving reality and unreality together. She made a good unreliable character out of Eleanor.

I guess I was expecting more out of this. I love Jackson's writing but didn't really care for the characters, kind of an important aspect.
