I'm so glad I got back to Jane Eyre (thanks, book club!) and finished it. She's brilliant. Not perfect, I suppose, but I like the way she thinks and stands up for herself, and strives for independence. I have a few qualms about Mr. Rochester, but Jane can handle him. She's unexpectedly forward-thinking and feminist (and another language aficionado!)
