Had heard good things about this book for a long time and the first few pages did not disappoint. However, I found that I lost interest as too many new characters were introduced. The parts with Crawley/Aziraphale were easily the best and I wish that the entire book was just about them.

Reread 03/19: I reread this in anticipation of the TV series coming out (and had to buy a new copy, having loaned out my old ones previously with no return; they get that right, in the introduction - there are just some books that are made to be shared, and lost, or passed on). It holds up well, for the most part, and I enjoyed it but I guess I miss that sense of startled surprise. A fun book.

A good and funny story.
But I wish it were just about Crowley and Aziraphale. They were the only characters I cared about and I wish the book was just them being funny together.
