**update** I was correct in thinking I should read the hard copy because I loved this. Now I may try it again on audio. This book isn't for everyone. Of all the books that I've thought "you either love it or hate it" this one has the most divisive reviews. This is mainly due to it being a "cult classic" and people (read mostly Americans- and let me be clear, I am one) go into it expecting to be rolling. Ever get the feeling that you were supposed to like something more than you did? I expected to love this book, to be in raptures about it. But, while I liked it fine, and there were parts that were quite enjoyable, I just didn't quite get there. But its not the book, I'm sure: it's me. I think it had something to do with the very frequent shifts in POV, and the farcical tone. I just haven't been in a screwball comedy mood lately.
