**update** I was correct in thinking I should read the hard copy because I loved this. Now I may try it again on audio. This book isn't for everyone. Of all the books that I've thought "you either love it or hate it" this one has the most divisive reviews. This is mainly due to it being a "cult classic" and people (read mostly Americans- and let me be clear, I am one) go into it expecting to be rolling. Fine, yet not as good as expected. Although the writing is often sharp and witty, the humor here grew old for me after a while and some may have gone over my head completely as I have read little of Gaiman's work and nothing by Pratchett. The story is strongest when focused on Aziraphale and Crowley, who are engaging and multifaceted characters; after the cast expanded to include secondary and tertiary characters who are tangentially connected to the main plot, my interest began to wane.
