This was an interesting one for me. We follow the life of Okonkwo, an Igbo man who lives to be a “strong man”, different from his father, who was “weak”, and strives to be a titled man in his village. This novel is written with an outsider-looking-in kind of perspective; rituals are explained, traditions are described minutely, and belief systems are laid out. Two stars for artistic merit. Four stars for technical achievement. The Peruvian judge missed the entire routine while queueing for the ladies room.
