Read this with my World Literature classes. I liked reading a book from an entirely different culture and perspective than I normally do. On the negative side, I think the writing wasn't great... but that could have been just lost in translation.

I read this book since it was required reading for my daughter's G/T 10th grade English class, and although I liked it, it was difficult to read and I find it hard to believe a reluctant teenage reader would be grabbed by it.
