Darkly beautiful Southern Gothic.

O'Connor writes stories that address humanity and all of it's weaknesses. While her stores can seem grotesquely disappointing and miserable, they really show what is so special about the human condition - the inherent flaws for which we are all prone to and for which we often love one another all the more. A must read! A Good Man Is Hard to Find and Other Stories is a eerily creepy book from the mid 20th century that truly sends chills through your bones without exhibiting too much gore or detailing triggering plots. Each short story brings the realization of the narrators deepest fears and prejudices. This book gives an interesting view into the minds of true country people from the 1940s.

A bit freaky, but stories with a moral. Shakes you up, which can be a good thing.
