What Members Thought
It’s been years since I first read this; the timing feels horribly right, with the last few years sinking deeper and deeper into doublethink. I remembered parts of this so much better than others, and had the sense of chasing after a half-forgotten dream all the way through. I finished part three in an English garden on a summer’s day, with the sun beating down on my shoulders and The National playing in my ears; the whole scene seems oddly fitting.
