I read this three times. Once when I was grade nine, then a year later, and then again in my last year of high school for a class reading.
Intially, my first reaction after reading this book was pure and unadulterated fright. I had scared myself into the delusion of what the world could be like if 1984 had happened the way Orwell envisioned. It frightened me to the point that the mere appearance or mention of the book made me flinch. I was young girl who fancied herself an interpreter of words.
