I really loved this book! Her writing style resonated with me; she has a very large vocabulary but doesn't wield it in an unnatural way to show off The topics (gender, sexuality, class, race, entertainment/pop culture) are interesting, relevant to today, and handled in a thorough and fair way, while still being one person's unique perspective and take on them. I can't wait to read her next books (coming out this year).

I really appreciated these essays and getting to know Roxane Gay a bit and now I need to look up her opinions on events in the past 3 years and her opinions on new books and movies and politics.
It was refreshing to hear her point of view and to consider all kinds of intersectional feminist issues from another perspective.
