I was a little let down by this book, as I've had it on my shelves for a long time and looked forward to reading it. Minor spoilers below.
Sabriel is a well-rounded female character written by a male author, and I appreciate that. Her somewhat unwilling sidekick, Mogget, is a really nice addition but I would have liked to meet him much sooner in the narrative; Sabriel was alone for the first 15o pages and it was dull. Her love interest, Touchstone, is a goodhearted meh.

Abandoned half way through. Interesting and clever world building, but I didn't find the plot engaging enough to keep on with it.
