Recommended if you liked Susan Cooper's series, The Dark is Rising.
I read this book because it was on one of those lists, "What to Read After You Finish Harry Potter." Fyi, its a totally different type of magic. No wands or spells here; there are bells and necromancers. Its not familiar magic, and it reminded me a lot of The Dark is Rising series. Its more cerebral, less physical. A. I hung in there (55% of the way through) because of the strong female protagonist and Tim Rice’s excellent narrating skills, but I had to be honest with myself and put this one down. I just didn’t care enough to properly follow the story. I didn’t realize it was YA (my least favourite genre) when I started it. I would drift off for great chunks of this audiobook and not care about what I’d missed when I paid attention again. Not for me.

This was a podcast recommend and I got excited when I learned from the audiobook that Sabriel is basically "going North of the Wall." However, after 2 hours of the audiobook and a lot of made up words later, I lost interest. I might try to get through it another time but I didn't really care what happened and I have a lot of other things to read. Sorry!
