I bought this book years ago at a used book sale and just rediscovered it in a box sitting in my son's closet. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My father told me stories of my great-grandfather settling in Canada from Nebraska. Arriving in a covered wagon just like the one the Ingall's travelled in.
I found this book to be a beautiful story of a simple time. The accounts of the Indians (Natives) on the prairie with the settlers was what I found most engaging. ...more
