This might be the most well written book that I never want to read again. The prose is so evocative and beautiful, but the subject matter turns my stomach.
I'm sure everyone knows this story so I don't feel the need to re-hash it here, and it is engaging, brilliant, sad, and tragic.

Hard to get past the despicable subject matter (this is obsession and abuse, NOT a love story in my opinion) but I am glad I read it. The author's mastery of language is incredible and it is a truly unique piece of literature.
