A thought provoking, intriguing documentary account.

A non-fiction written with many of the positive attributes often only found in fiction: excellent character building and a casual easy-reading flow. Fascinating. I totally understand why this is the paragon of excellent true crime narrative. Capote's extensive research meant I got to read the direct quotes from the murderers and the townspeople who knew the Clutters. This was a horrifying, senseless crime. It was however a fascinating subject. The detective work on this case was very good, especially considering the limitations of 1959-1962. Now, on to a happier read! ...more
