I've never read any Truman Capote books but he has been on my radar. I watched "Capote" recently which is based on "In Cold Blood " and although they are both concerned with a horrific mass murder, I found them both fascinating. This is not a work of fiction and tells of the murder of four members of the same family in the U.S. in the late 1950s. Completely not my usual sort of book, but highly recommended by a friend and then I walked past an invitingly pristine copy of it on prominent display in the library, so it was obviously meant to be. In the end I would say I really enjoyed the book, despite its gorey topic, and the way it played into my natural paranoia about the way houses creak late at night...definitely not good bedtime reading!
