This book left me with a lump in my throat. I feel this physical need to know what happened to Offred. As I went through this book, I noticed that my body reacted to it. I was uncomfortable, as well as too knowing of the situations described. My body felt the shame, awkwardness, desire, love, and confusion that Offred's did. I guess that is what makes this book so powerful. It takes real life feelings and places them in this world, which at first seems so foreign, but is it really? It frustrated

"What the HELL is going on here?"
"What is happening???"
"Why is this happening???"
FINALLY at the very end in the "history lesson" that was a bit annoying to read honestly, they come out and say what and why everything before it was going on. I loved a lot of things about this book and I think it's got the makings of a classic. Very Brave New World, only a little more graphic sexually. It has a lot of philosophical points and makes you think about how society is, and wher ...more
