What Members Thought
It was good. I like historical fiction when there's not much known about the person, so the liberties can be free, and the facts we do know about the painter were stuck to. It was a rich world the author created and believable enough. (view spoiler)

I really was not all that thrilled with this novel. I enjoyed the historical basis and found it thoroughly viable, however I found the heroine lacking in substance and annoying. I did not find the class structure to be predominant but just an excuse and not a fact of life.
