One of my favorites as a kid, and it still holds up. I want more middle grade literature like this.

Lois Lowry was my favorite author as a kid... The fact that I still remember passages from her stories as an adult is proof of her timeless power. This book is arguably her crowning achievement. Brilliantly conceived.
