This was really good! I can see why it’s considered a classic. The plot is complex and realistic in sentiment. All these heroes seem flawed and entirely real. Each story flows nicely into the next one.

Multiple timelines and a layered complex story makes this confusing to simple-minded me. My mind would wander for a second and I would have to re-read it because I missed a lot. I tried so hard, but it's been a month and I'm not even halfway through this, so I am setting it aside. This had been on my shelf forever, and I was really looking forward to it, but for some reason it is just not working for me. It may be too bleak for my current mood. I dreaded picking it up.
