This is a sweet little story about love and about siblings. I didn't like Greta or the mother, Danielle, much in this novel... still, I had to silence my inner King Triton (IYKYK) during a lot of June and Toby's decision making/choices. If the former characters had been slightly more sympathetic or the latter ones less lovable much of the storyline would have been harder to stomach. As it was I spent more emotions on sorrow for June and Toby's loss, disgust over the mothers comments (towards eve

I loved being with June, the main character in this story, as she navigated her grief over the death of her uncle, her changing relationship with her sister and her friendship with Toby. It is a compelling title and when you read the back you wonder how it ties in but that was all that really prompted me to pick it up. I read all the reviews about how amazing it was, how hard to describe and how you will cry ‘buckets’ (I am sure I saw that phrase more than once) but I didn’t really believe them.

“I used to think maybe I wanted to become a falconer, and now I'm sure of it, because I need to figure out the secret. I need to work out how to keep things flying back to me instead of always flying away.”
“I felt like I had proof that not all days are the same length, not all time has the same weight. Proof that there are worlds and worlds and worlds on top of worlds, if you want them to be there.”
