(late review, forgot GR wasn't working when I tried this last time)
This book essentially bored me with its complete repetitiveness and inane characterization. The same characters were re-introduced in the same way over and over. Every character was pigeonholed into a teenage stereotype – “jock,” “rich kid,” “thug,” etc. Even the more main characters, who we saw repeatedly throughout the book, did not get developed much further beyond these stereotypes. Battle Royale kicks ass and takes names. A group of teenagers loads up on a bus thinking that they're heading out for a field trip...you're getting sleepy...very, very sleepy...BAM! You've been chosen for The Program. You will fight to the death or you will die! Don't try to escape or you will die! Don't walk into the wrong area or you will die! You will bleed your own blood or you will DIE!

OMG this book was soooo incredible!!! I loved the ending, especially because it changed from the worst scenario that it tricked me into believing. Shogo really is a part of my heart.
3.5 out of 5 if Goodreads allowed 1/2 stars
This book is complete chaos. However, that is to be expected. Still a fun and exciting read.
