An interesting and insightful look into colonialism, human nature, and the danger of modern weaponry - especially atomic weapons. Bradbury uses colonization of Mars to explore treatment of Others by Western society and the possibility of mutually assured destruction, a popular Cold War concept.

At times a bit heavy, it is very telling that it ends on a hopeful note. A compelling novel, something to make you think.
