The beauty and simplicity of the stories that make up this lovely little book are completely refreshing. "The Martian Chronicles" is a series of short stories that were strung into a novel for publication purposes. I'm not sure how to describe The Martian Chronicles, but I'll give it a shot. It is a series of short stories set on Mars. Earthlings went to Mars to explore and to get away from the war and destruction that was the Earth. The first visit to the Mars doesn't go well. Neither does the second, the third, or the fourth. Still, they keep coming. Mars seems to be a lot like Earth, or maybe that's just how Earthlings perceive it. Mars feels like home, and it doesn't.

I don't know that I'd recommend it as there were stories I couldn't bring myself to finish but then there were others that I'd read again in a heartbeat.

Wow.. wasn't feeling this one so much at first, but after the first third or so I was hooked. I haven't thought this much about a book post-read in a while.
