This book was "exceptional." There was some kind of addictive nature right from the start that made me want to keep reading this book. I wonder if I would have liked the short story version better because I didn't like the stuff about his abuse from his mom or the sexual parts.

There was nothing wrong with this book. It was just sad. And I so I cheated and read the rest of the plot online and decided I didn't want to bum myself out anymore. From what I read of it (little more than half) this was a good book. It just wasn't for me.
