An extraordinary book that delves into friendship, family, love and gender equality. It is a novel that took me by the hand and led me on a wonderful and sometimes painful journey through the eyes of two beautifully strong women. Alice Walker’s The Colour Purple is a literary masterpiece for a reason, and it is one of these best novels I have ever read.
