this isn't the sort of book i ordinarily read - i don't care much for fantasy or sci-fi (i read this one for a book club and on the recommendation of some friends). on a more personal level, i think i would give it 3 stars. i liked it, it certainly kept me entertained, and it was very powerful thematically. but i didn't Love it, because i find it difficult to connect with this genre.
