Oh I have been wanting to read this book forever, I had a lucky day and won a amazon gift card from A. Zavarelli so the first thing I did was buy this book!! Thank you for that :) anyhoo this book broke my heart into pieces, two damaged souls finally brought together to start to heal. Birdie's story.
Another book by A. Zavarelli I could not put down.

Two very complex and damaged characters. Birdie is the sister of Gypsy from the first book Confess. Gypsy has now settled down and is due to give birth but she still can't help worrying about her younger sister who has gone of the rails since she became old enough to fend for herself and is no longer under Gypsy's wing.

Birdie is a strong character with a past of abuse, If you have read the first book you will have some idea of Birdie's story.

Birdie is a strong character with a past of abuse, If you have read the first book you will have some idea of what these two girls went through in their childhood and what they did to survive. Birdie was still turning tricks and stalking men in casino's until Gypsy stepped in and asked Lucian who is now her husband to help her by keeping Birdie safe and out of trouble until after the baby is born to ease her of worry.

Lucian contacts Ace who is a member of an MC but also close to Lucian. Lucian saved Ace when he had nowhere to go and no-one to turn to, he had served years in prison for a crime he didn't commit and Lucian was his saviour, Ace was indebted to him and without being asked twice, Ace agreed to get Birdie willing or not and keep her with him.

If you have watched the film The Green Mile then you know what I mean when I say Ace reminded me of the main character in that film, not quite the same character, opposites in fact but I could not stop thinking about the similarities in other ways. I felt for Ace, for what he had been through as a child, for what he went through in prison, the wasted years and the things he put himself through as an adult.

One look at Birdie when he first met her and this man who had never had any feelings of love or care for another except a girl long ago who was taken from him began to be obsessed with Birdie, another reason why he immediately agreed when Lucian had asked him to take care of Birdie. Ace was possessive, protective and although Birdie went kicking and screaming at first, the development in their relationship was heartwarming.

I could not put this book down, I didn't want to break the momentum I had while reading about these two characters and the excitement of what was to come. There is angst, danger, heartwarming moments, hotness and characters that are complicated until they complete one-another.

CONVICT is not an MC read although Ace is part of one, the plot very much focuses on the characters and what is going on in their lives and not club business like you would find in an MC read.

Told in first person's dual pov, leads to hea, can be read as a standalone. Another brilliant read from A. Zavarelli.
