Secrets and Lies by Karen Frances was gripping and intense and I can't wait for the next book.

This isn't my normal kind of read, I don't normally go for crime, suspense kind of reads but I am so glad I did and I will be coming back for more. Everything was balanced just right, I was quickly enveloped in the story through the ease of the authors writing and the action, suspense and hotness kept me hooked.

Please note this cannot be read as a standalone and I read this through my kindle unlimited Secrets and Lies by Karen Frances was gripping and intense and I can't wait for the next book.

Maria Fraser, wife of the notorious gang lord. The woman who has turned a blind eye to many crimes over the years. The woman who has lost herself.

I was instantly hooked on this book. After years of marriage Maria discovers her husband for the monster he is when she stumbles across an interrogation in the basement of one of his clubs and what she see's gives her not only chills but leaves her in disbelief and disgust at the monster she married and shares a bed with.

When Maria's husband is murdered and other murders begin to happen Detective Jack McKenzie keeps a close eye o Maria but after interviewing her in hospital can't help but feel pulled towards her. There's attraction for both of them until it leads to more.

"We live in different worlds, but with his skin against mine and his soft kisses trailing my neck, you’d never know we shouldn’t be together. This is a secret that can’t be shared. Not ever".

A risky relationship, a forbidden relationship i the eyes of the law, a suspect and Gangsters wife but the attraction is too strong for both of them.

"For the first time in my life, I willingly surrender myself to a man. I’m allowing him dominance over me and my body. This time, I’m not a victim. I’m not weak. I’m full of passion and burning desire for a man who I know could ruin me."

I will be eagerly awaiting the conclusion of this story. If this was a complete story I have no doubt that I would have given this 5 star.
