I liked Norma much more than I thought I would. It's a genre-crossing work of literary fiction, mixing magical realism, mystery, and a search for identity. I can definitely see how this wouldn't be for everybody. It's not your tradition novel in any sense.

Norma is very grabbing. It's written in multiple perspectives, though it is difficult to tell sometimes when the narrator switches as there are no headings or chapter changes when that occurs. The story begins with Norma's mother's funeral. Sh
