I get the idea of the book, but it did have some problematic illustrations - stereotypes for sure.
For some reason I was very bothered by the mix of real and imaginary homes. I understand it's more about the art and what the artist sees, but for a kid, having a detailed picture of a real home from another culture compared to a home in Atlantis makes each seem equally real. I know that just nitpicking, but it bugged me.

Surprisingly informative and fanciful, with beautiful illustrations.
